Accountabilty scholarship

This scholarship of $1000 will be awarded to one African American student majoring in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting attending a university or college in Rhode Island. The Accountability Scholar will be a student that exemplifies academic achievement and a demonstrated interest in one of the fields named above. To apply for this scholarship, students must submit one letter of recommendation and a short essay to the following prompt:

Reflect on a time when you faced a setback or encountered a challenge in your personal or professional life. Describe how taking ownership and being accountable for your actions or decisions played a role in addressing the situation. Discuss the impact that accountability had on your ability to learn, grow, and overcome obstacles. Consider the ways in which being accountable influences your relationships, integrity, and overall sense of responsibility. Explain why accountability is an essential principle in shaping individual character and fostering trust, both within oneself and among others.

Requirements:

  • Must be a attending college full time in the fall of 2024
